Boom Academy 2006

We have entered the MTV Boom competition once again this year. Fifteen primary to secondary transition students produced two fantastic music videos for the competition, which are being screened in the reception area of the school.The transition aims were to better prepare students for their new experiences at their new school by acquainting them with the school environment and giving them the opportunity to make new friends.

The focus of the school was to learn about the production of music videos. Students watched a range of music videos, gave opinions and completed group work in response to a range of interesting tasks. They learnt about shooting and editing video, good group work skills, narrative interpretation and most importantly how to apply their own imagination to making great media work.

Students worked in teams to produce 2 excellent one minute music videos from a range of music supplied by the MTV BOOM Academy website. We hope we will again be short listed, like last year for an award! Winners will be announced in the new year …watch this space!
